June 12th is Women Veterans Day (Women Veteran Recognition Day). Oshkosh Corporation celebrated our women veterans on JUN 5th with a panel discussion and happy hour networking. We created two sets of the Risky Business sunglasses. One set for our women veterans that stated "I am not invisible, woman veteran" and another set for our allies "We see her, supporting women veterans." These products were an incredible way for team members to show support for our women veterans and great resource to have at our outdoor happy hour networking after the event. It was really awesome to see a "sea" of these sunglasses! Women veterans (and current service members) have a very hard time being "seen." Many are asked if their husband served, or are denied veteran benefits because they are assumed to be the "supporter." Even some are deterred at the VA clinics because they have been assumed to be dependents and not the actual veteran. It was a fun and useful way to show our support for these warrior women!
